Juvenile bald eagle recovering after rescue in Homer

HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – A bald eagle is on its way to recovery after a rescue in Homer.

On July 12, the Homer Police Department responded to State Route 281 for a report of an injured bird.

An officer located a juvenile bald eagle just outside the village and, along with some concerned members of the public, remained with the animal for safety while waiting for the DEC to arrive.

According to the Homer Police Department, the eagle was taken to Cornell University and is doing well.
