Locke man charged after allegedly violating order of protection

LOCKE, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cayuga County man is accused of violating an order of protection.

On November 2, deputies responded to a reported physical domestic incident around 6:30 p.m. in Locke.

Michael Zirbel, of Locke, allegedly subjected a woman to unwanted physical contact, but had left the scene before the arrival of law enforcement. The 48-year-old, who is also a parolee, was arrested the following morning and charged with felony contempt and misdemeanor attempted assault.

The order of protection was upgraded to a full stay-away.

Zirbel was held in custody at Cayuga County Jail due to receiving a felony charge while on parole. He is scheduled to appear in Locke Town Court today.
