LOCKE, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cayuga County man awaits his day in court.

On August 29, Michael Yaw of Locke called deputies to his home before 2 a.m., claiming someone he had an order of protection against was in violation.

While investigating, authorities say they discovered that the 62-year-old was actively on the phone with a different person who had a full stay-away order against Yaw himself.

Yaw was charged with misdemeanor criminal contempt and sent to Cayuga County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.

The new charge comes less than a week after Yaw was arrested in a domestic dispute where he allegedly told the victim he’d kill them and set their home on fire.

In that incident, Yaw was charged with three counts of felony criminal possession of a weapon and six misdemeanors. State Police seized several firearms.
