DRYDEN, NY (607NewsNow) – A Massachusetts man faces charges in Tompkins County.

On November 4, deputies responded to a dispute at a business on North Street in the Village of Dryden around 4 a.m.

Jared Howson, 34, is accused of forcing his way into the business and attacking two employees. After further investigation, deputies say Howson also unlawfully entered a tractor trailer that was parked in the business lot and assaulted the driver, who was asleep inside.

It’s further alleged that Howson struck a deputy in the face while they attempted to detain him.

Howson is charged with two counts of felony burglary, two counts of misdemeanor assault, and misdemeanor obstruction of governmental administration. According to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, Howson was transported to Cayuga Medical Center for evaluation after his arrest.
