TIOGA, NY (607NewsNow) – A man reported missing in Tioga County has been found dead.

On April 30, Lance Bogart was found deceased in a creek near his home in the town of Tioga by the NYSP Underwater Recovery Team.

The 47-year-old was reported missing earlier this week after disappearing into the woods near Halsey Valley Road on the evening of April 26. At the time, a witness told police Bogart seemed distressed and possibly under the influence of a substance.

State Police used K9 units and drones in the search effort, and were assisted by multiple agencies, including NYS DEC forest rangers.

Troopers say there is no indication of foul play at this time, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
