Moravia man charged with failure to update address in sex offender registry

AUBURN, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cayuga County man awaits his day in court.

On September 12, deputies arrested 52-year-old John McNamara.

McNamara is a registered sex offender listed at an address in Moravia, but he was found living in the City of Auburn on Friday. McNamara was arrested and charged with failure to report a change of address, which is a felony.

McNamara was processed and taken to Cayuga County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Sennett Town Court on September 18.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with relevant information to contact them at (315) 253-1222.
