Newark Valley to hold candlelight vigil for student killed in crash

NEWARK VALLEY, NY (CortacaToday) — Students in Newark Valley are gathering tonight in remembrance of a classmate.

Senior Connor VanZile died in a crash on Sunday morning. He was a passenger in a car that veered off Bailey Hollow Road and struck a tree.

The driver tells WIVT-TV he swerved to avoid hitting a deer.

VanZile was set to graduate this Friday.

A candlelight vigil starts at 9 p.m. tonight at Newark Valley High School.
