ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The cause of a fire in Ithaca’s “jungle” is still unknown.

The Ithaca Fire Department arrived around 7:50 Wednesday morning to a fire in the encampment behind Lowe’s. Firefighters say a two-story makeshift shelter was consumed by flames. No one was inside at the time, and IFD says there were no injuries.

It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the fire.
