No serious injuries after school bus crash in Newfield

NEWFIELD, NY (607NewsNow) – No one is seriously hurt after a motor vehicle crash in Newfield.

On December 23, firefighters were called to Route 13 and Protts Hill Road around 11 a.m. for a two-vehicle accident.

A pick-up truck collided head-on with a Newfield school bus due to snowy road conditions. According to the Newfield Central School District, one student and a staff member were transported to Cayuga Medical Center for evaluation of minor injuries. The remaining students were transported back to school, and their families were contacted.

Representatives from Bangs Ambulance say the exceptional, quick responses from the Newfield Fire Company and Newfield School District were “instrumental in helping a chaotic scene be neutralized promptly and safely.”
