Older residents can schedule free tax prep in Tioga County

OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) – With the New Year just hours away, it’s never too early to start thinking about taxes.

On January 2, local certified volunteers will begin taking appointments for free tax preparation in Tioga County.

The service is for adult residents 50 and over with moderate to low income. The service is made possible with financial support from the IRS and AARP.

According to the Owego Pennysaver, you can make appointments for February, March, or April by calling the Apalachin Library, the Owego Coburn Free Library, Tioga Opportunities/Countryside Community Center, or the Waverly Historical Society Museum.
