ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A fire in Ithaca is under investigation.

On May 26, crews were called to the Rodeway Inn for a fire in one of the rooms.

The Tompkins County Department of Social Services utilizes the Rodeway as an emergency shelter placement facility. One shelter client was transported to the hospital for treatment. The fire was contained to a single room, but two more rooms were affected by sprinklers.

County personnel are working with Rodeway Inn ownership and shelter provider Volunteers of America (V.O.A.) on the impacted rooms to expedite any disruption to emergency housing services.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
