Over 350k curling irons recalled for burn hazard

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Over 350,000 curling irons are being recalled.

J & D Brush says the LXT-CL-1.0 model of its Bio Ionic curling irons has a defect that poses a burn hazard.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the barrel of the iron can snap and detach. There have been 258 reports of the barrel detaching, and six reported injuries.

The affected product has a date code between 0722 and 1223 etched on a prong of the power cord plug.

 

The product was sold on Amazon.com, Bioionic.com, Salon Centric (in-store and online), Ulta (in-store and online), Sephora (in-store and online), Nordstrom (in-store and online), and other beauty supply retailers from August 2022 to July 2024.

Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately and contact Bio Ionic to register for a free replacement. You will be asked to cut off the plug and return it to the recalling firm using a prepaid shipping label.
