Ovid pair charged with alleged wallet theft

OVID, NY (607NewsNow) – Two people face charges in Seneca County.

On December 13, deputies arrested 58-year-old Julia Collins and 54-year-old William Campbell for grand larceny, misdemeanor petit larceny, and misdemeanor conspiracy.

Collins and Campbell are accused of stealing someone’s wallet out of a shopping basket at the Dollar General in Ovid. Deputies identified the pair as suspects after speaking with the victim and store employees. They were taken into custody without incident, and the wallet was recovered.

Both Collins and Campbell are scheduled to appear in Ovid Town Court on January 6, 2026.
