(607NewsNow) — Our pets of the week start with Jack Sparrow (Top L) and King (Top R) from CNY Snap.

Jack Sparrow is about 3-5 years old. He had a been a stray living outside for a long time with a collar on trying to find refuge and food. He was sick and hungry, so someone brought him to the shelter in January 2025 to save him from the cold. He’s gentle, calm, and friendly. He’s a good boy unlike the pirate character he’s named after. Jack Sparrow has been neutered, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

King is about a year old and was surrendered in August 2025 when his family moved. The previous owner said King did well with kids. He’s a sweet boy who shadows volunteers and begs for pets and really just wants a family. King has also been neutered, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Next, we have Nina (Bottom L) and Chief (Bottom R) from the Cortland County SPCA. Nina is about 10 months old and is the epitome of joy, always ready to play and engage with anyone willing to toss a ball or share a laugh at her goofy antics. Her intelligence shines through in how quickly she learns new tricks, and her friendly demeanor makes her a perfect companion for any family.

Chief is about 3.5 years old and is a smart, playful, and cuddly adult dog who lights up the shelter with his sweet nature. He’s known for his funny, adorable wiggle when he’s happy, showing just how joyful he can be. Chief is incredibly friendly, always ready to play and share his affection with those around him.
