SOUTHERN TIER, NY (607NewsNow) — The National Weather Service has issued a pair of alerts for the Southern Tier: a cold weather advisory from 7 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday, and a winter storm watch from 1 a.m. Sunday through 7 p.m. Monday. 

Keeping your phone and other electronics charged, having layers of clothing and blankets on hand, using power company websites and apps to report and stay updated on outages, and only traveling when necessary are recommended for the upcoming inclement weather.
