CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Restoration work continues at the Cortland County Courthouse.

On April 22, crews began applying a coat of primer to the courthouse dome.

Officials say it will help ensure a strong, long-lasting finish as the project progresses and beyond. In August 2025, the county’s highway bridge crew did a complete rebuild of the courthouse steps at the west entrance. It followed recent restoration at the building’s other entrances, as well as elevator and HVAC system work.

Much of the restoration project is funded with grant money from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York and American Rescue Plan Act funds.
