Richard Tupper, former Cortlandville town supervisor, dies at 76

CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) — A former Cortland County lawmaker is being remembered.

The Cortlandville Fire Department says Richard Tupper played a big role in growing the town, adding he was also a big supporter of the fire district. Tupper spent 15 years as Cortlandville’s town supervisor. He also served on the Cortland County Legislature for 13 years, including a time as chair. 

The Cortland native passed away Sunday, Apr. 12. He was 76. Visitation will be held Friday, Apr. 17, at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 at St. Mary’s Church.
