Richford OKs temporary ban on solar energy systems

RICHFORD, NY (607NewsNow) — A Tioga County town is putting a temporary hold on certain green energy projects.

On Oct. 14, the Richford Town Board approved a six-month moratorium on the development and construction of solar energy systems. All board members voted in favor of the ban.

A similar six-month moratorium on the acceptance of new solar energy permits was approved by the Cortlandville Town Board on Oct. 1.
