ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A longtime Ithaca restaurant owner has died.

On November 9, Dororthy Sturtevant, who co-owned the Royal Court Restaurant with her sister Marilyn, passed away.

It happened just two weeks after the family made the decision to close the restaurant to prioritize caring for the sisters. The Royal Court had been operating on Meadow Street for 53 years.

No formal services are planned. You can order memorial trees or send flowers to the family through the Bangs Funeral Home website.

Sturtevant was 96.
