WATKINS GLEN, NY (607NewsNow) — Schuyler County is achieving a milestone.

The 911 Center has received accreditation from the New York State Sheriffs’ Association. It’s the first accreditation for the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office.

“This accreditation reflects the professionalism and commitment of our entire team and our strong partnership with Emergency Management,” Sheriff Kevin Rumsey said. “I am extremely proud of Judson Smith, our 911 staff, and everyone who contributed to this accomplishment.”

According to a post on Facebook, “accreditation is a rigorous process that evaluates policies, procedures, training, and operations to ensure the highest professional standards in emergency communications and public safety.”
