CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Softball season has ended at SUNY Cortland.

On Saturday, the Red Dragons were knocked out of the NCAA tournament after a 7-0 loss to Moravian. The game was played in Bethlehem, Pa.

In a postgame press conference, Cortland Head Coach Molly O’Donnell said she feels “so lucky” to have a roster full of hardworking players.

“[I’ve got] underclassmen who are acting like that’s their last game,” she said. “I’ve got seniors here who would die on the field for us.”

O’Donnell said the returning players will come back hungry next season. The Red Dragons have reached the NCAA tournament in back-to-back years.
