Syracuse PD makes arrest in dog stabbing investigation

SYRACUSE, NY (607NewsNow) – A Syracuse man accused of stabbing a dog is under arrest.

The Syracuse Police Department believes Raqueeb Shadreem is the man who stabbed a pit bull in the neck on October 21.

According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, the 47-year-old Shadreem is also accused of attacking the dog’s owner with a box cutter the same day. Shadreem, who was arrested on October 30, is charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and aggravated animal cruelty, all felonies.

The dog is recovering with a foster family after a week in the hospital and multiple surgeries.
