DICKINSON, NY (607NewsNow) – A Tennessee man faces charges of sex crimes in Broome County.

On March 15, deputies responded to a report of sexual offenses involving a juvenile at the Hillside Inn & Suites on Old Front Street in the Town of Dickinson.

Samuel Harris was arrested and charged with two counts of statutory rape and misdemeanor child endangerment. Investigators say the 25-year-old Harris traveled by bus to New York to meet up with a 15-year-old girl he met on TikTok five months ago.

Harris arrived on March 14 and allegedly engaged in sexual acts with the child while her mother was out getting food.

“We will continue to hold these predators accountable, but parents must continue to be ever vigilant when it comes to social media use by their children,” said Sheriff Fred Akshar.

Harris is being held in the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility.
