OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) – A murder trial in Tioga County has been delayed.

The Owego Pennysaver reports that Jonathan Glennon, of Ithaca, will return to court in September to face charges of kidnapping and first- and second-degree murder.

The 34-year-old is one of three men who were ultimately charged with the abduction and killing of Ithaca man Thomas Rath in 2023, two of whom have already been convicted and sentenced. Rath went missing from the Ithaca encampment known as “The Jungle” in May 2023. His body was found on a seasonal road in Candor on August 3, 2023

The trial was pushed back to allow the court more time to review procedural operations and the evidence, including DNA, additional transcripts, and more.

Glennon previously pled not guilty and refused a plea bargain in exchange for cooperation with the prosecution. Glennon’s trial is tentatively set to resume on September 22, 2025.
