HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – A child is hospitalized after a crash in Homer.

On March 15, State Police responded to a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 just before 5 p.m.

Troopers say Syracuse man Mahmudul Hasan, 35, passed a Chevy Malibu in the right lane of the highway, then struck the car while trying to get back in the left lane, causing the Malibu to hit the guardrail. Hasan then hit a Subaru Cross Trek while overcorrecting from the initial crash.

TLC Ambulance transported a one-year-old female passenger in Hasan’s car to Upstate Medical University. Neither Hasan nor his other passenger, a 31-year-old woman, reported injuries.

The operator of the Malibu, 64-year-old Joe Giordano of Ithaca, reported pain on-scene but declined transport to a hospital. The occupants of the Subaru were uninjured.

Hasan was issued three citations.
