Tioga County man facing child porn charges

RICHFORD, NY (607NewsNow) – A Tioga County man is facing child porn charges.

On May 29, State Police arrested Omar Vargas-Herrera, of Richford, after receiving an online tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children, and the Albany Internet Crimes Against Children group.

Troopers took the 44-year-old into custody after executing a search warrant at his home.

Vargas-Herrera is charged with four felonies: three counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child less than 16 years of age, and one count of promoting a sexual performance by a child less than 17.
