Today: 39th Annual Tompkins County Workers’ Center Labor Day Picnic in Stewart Park

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – The Tompkins County Workers’ Center’s 39th Annual Labor Day Picnic is today.

This year’s theme is Celebrating Unions and Strengthening the Community.

Legislator Veronica Pillar says all are welcome.

The annual awards have become increasingly popular over the years. They include the Mother Jones Award; the A. Philip Randolph Award; the Dolores Huerta Award; the Joe Hill Award; the Chico Mendes Award; the Karen Lewis Award; the Friend of Labor Award; the Goat of Labor; and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The picnic is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. at the Main Pavilion in Stewart Park.
