ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Tompkins County is experiencing dry conditions.

Tompkins joins Cayuga and Schuyler among the 30 counties added to the DEC’s drought watch list last week, bringing the total across the state to 50. Though it’s only the first of four advisory levels, residents are advised to conserve water if possible. Cortland, Tioga, and Broome Counties are in the normal drought stage.

According to the National Weather Service’s office in Binghamton, rain isn’t expected to fall at all this week.
