Tompkins County Office for the Aging to host Family Caregiver Recognition Event Thursday

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – November is National Caregiver Appreciation Month.

On November 20, the Tompkins County Office for the Aging is hosting a Family Caregiver Recognition Event to highlight the challenges and hard work that family caregivers face and do on a daily basis.

A one-hour presentation will be given by Carly Nichols, Clinical Outreach Consultant from Family & Children’s Services of Ithaca. It aims to provide opportunities for “mindful reflection about the valuable and hard work of caregiving, validation of the challenges experienced and practical tips to empower you to keep growing in your capacity to care for your own well-being while providing care to loved ones.”

Attendees will receive a gift bag (1 per Tompkins County caregiver while supplies last, have a chance to enter gift basket raffles, and enjoy refreshments.

The Family Caregiver Recognition Event takes place Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Office for the Aging at 214 West State Street in Ithaca.
