ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Looking for a new hobby to learn this year? The Tompkins County Public Library (TCPL) is offering ‘Learn to Sew One-on-One’ classes every Monday during January 2026.

From 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on January 5th, January 12th, January 19th, and January 26th, sewing beginners can receive an instructional introduction to the parts, threading, and basic uses of a sewing machine.

Meant as a one-time class to get novices started, registration for the event is required and opens one week before each class at 9 a.m. Further instruction on sewing can be found during the library’s makerspace open hours.

Registrants must be above the age of 16 and must cancel or alert the reference desk if unable to follow through on a class registration.

For more information, visit the TCPL website here.
