ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — An insurance company with local offices in the Southern Tier and Central New York has been sold.

Illinois-based Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced Monday the purchase of Tompkins Insurance Agencies, which has offices in Ithaca, Cortland, and Trumansburg. There are also offices in Auburn in Cayuga County and Syracuse and Fayetteville in Onondaga County.

According to a news release, company president David Boyce will stay at his location under the leadership of Brendan Gallagher and Scott Sherman, who are heads of Gallagher’s Northeast region.

“Tompkins Insurance Agencies is a highly regarded firm that enhances our brokerage capabilities in the region across commercial lines, personal lines and employee benefits,” President and Chairman J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr. said. “I am excited to welcome David and his associates to Gallagher.”

Tompkins Insurance Agencies offers insurance services across New York and Pennsylvania.
