Town of Homer grappling with revenue loss under new county agreement

HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) — Homer is making up for lost revenue. 

In August, the Cortland County Legislature approved a new sales tax agreement that will increase the county’s share of sales tax over several years. As a result, Homer Town Supervisor Mike Park tells us they will lose a lot of money. 

Park adds that as revenue slips away, expenses are up sharply.

Cortland County’s share of sales tax is set to increase over the next few years.
