Investigators say one truck jack-knifed in the snow, and the other truck failed to avoid the collision. The driver of the first semi, Salimov Olimjon, of Brooklyn, did not report any injuries. The driver of the second semi, Flavio Pacheco, of Massachusetts, was transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center after complaining of back pain.

That section of the highway was shut down for multiple hours. The DEC spill response team responded to the scene for diesel fuel clean-up.
