Trumansburg’s $33 million school budget includes more money for teachers

TRUMANSBURG, NY (607NewsNow) — The Trumansburg Central School District‘s budget is ready for a vote. 

The $33.3 million spending plan proposal includes salary increases for teachers and teaching assistants, which were approved as part of new contracts.

Efforts to balance the budget for the 2026-27 school year include keeping some positions vacant and reducing non-essential BOCES services and shared routes. There will be a public budget hearing on Tuesday, May 5 at 5:30 p.m.

Trumansburg’s school budget vote, which includes a proposition for the purchase of 2 65-passenger propane buses for nearly $440,000, is May 19.
