Two arrested after deputies locate stolen vehicle in Danby

DANBY, NY (607NewsNow) – Authorities have located a stolen vehicle in Tompkins County.

On September 9, members of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of suspicious persons around 7 a.m. in Danby.

A vehicle matching the caller’s description was located on Jersey Hill Road with two men inside. Timothy Cuerter Jr., of Spencer, and Cody Swansbrough, of Willseyville, were arrested after deputies discovered the vehicle was reported stolen the previous day in Tioga County.

Additionally, deputies say Cuerter Jr., 36, had methamphetamine on him, and Swansbrough, 27, had meth and heroin.

Both men are charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property. Cuerter Jr. is charged with one count of misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance, and Swansbrough is charged with two counts.
