Two charged with animal cruelty in Newark Valley

NEWARK VALLEY, NY – (607NewsNow) – Five dogs have been seized in Tioga County.

On May 24, 23-year-old Madison Barnes and 25-year-old Jordan Hoyt of Owego were arrested following an investigation of abuse in Newark Valley.

Deputies say the two failed to provide proper food and shelter for the dogs, which were taken to Stray Haven for medical treatment. Barnes and Hoyt are charged with five counts of animal cruelty.
