Virgil man accused of brandishing knife in alleged domestic disturbance

VIRGIL, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland County man awaits his day in court.

On December 5, deputies were called to a residence in Virgil just after 11 p.m. for a reported domestic disturbance.

Alex Toolan, 25, is accused of threatening a victim inside the home with a knife during the dispute. He is charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor menacing.

Toolan is being held on $1,000 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Virgil Town Court at 5 p.m. on January 27, 2026.
