Virgil proclaims June as Dairy Month

VIRGIL, NY (607NewsNow) — A Cortland County town is honoring farmers.

On June 11, the Virgil Town Board declared June as Dairy Month. According to the proclamation, Dairy Month provides an opportunity to “recognize and celebrate” the hard work and contributions of dairy farmers and farm families.

Virgil residents are encouraged to support local dairy producers and agricultural businesses. Per the proclamation, milk and dairy products provide “essential nutrients” that contribute to the health of people of all ages.
