Waverly man charged after allegedly attacking family and police

LITCHFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA (607NewsNow) – A Waverly man faces charges in Pennsylvania.

On December 21, Christopher Payne allegedly threatened and punched several family members at a home in Litchfield Township.

The 26-year-old is also accused of threatening police when they arrived and injuring an officer during his arrest. According to The Daily Review, Payne told police he would ‘knock all of their teeth in,’ and tried to grab an officer’s firearm while being taken into custody.

Payne is charged with 18 counts of aggravated assault, five counts of terroristic threats, three counts of harassment, two counts of simple assault, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest. He’s being held in Bradford County Prison on $250,000 bail.

A hearing date is scheduled for December 30.
