BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) – Senator Lea Webb is encouraging youth to participate in a summer reading program.

Children of any age across State Senate District 52 who read three books and submit the information to Webb’s office will receive an official certificate of achievement from the Senator.

This year’s theme, “Unearth A Story,” encourages kids to explore new worlds and spark their imagination. Webb says the program is designed to promote literacy at home.

“I’m excited to launch this year’s summer reading program, ‘Unearth A Story’ for children throughout our district,” said Webb. “Reading is a cornerstone of our society, and it can release creativity, excitement, and joy for the youth in our communities.”

The deadline for submissions is August 21. The form can be found here.
