MARATHON, NY (607NewsNow) — The Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps is working on getting money for a new facility.

Chief John Tillotson tells 607 News Now their $4.1 million project not getting selected for funding through the NY Forward program, which Marathon was awarded in 2025, was a tough blow.

Tillotson adds they are assessing whether to go forward.

The proposed facility would house all MAVAC services under one roof, Tillotson said.
