ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — On September 17th, Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare held a celebratory luncheon with corporate and community supporters.

This year’s Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare took place on August 9th at the Ithaca Yacht Club. A total of 372 swimmers and 140 volunteers participated to accumulate 7,320 donations that raised $679,622 (as of September 18th, 2025).

A presentation from Director of Development & Community Relations Emily Hopkins showed that out of the more than 600 businesses and organizations asked to sponsor the event, 29 of them agreed to it.

The presentation, followed by a tour of the Hospicare facility, highlighted the importance of community involvement to keep the annual tradition going. An emotional and personal cause for many involved, the desire to support Hospicare in their mission to help people live their final months as fully and peacefully as possible is a sentiment shared by sponsors and swimmers alike.

Next year’s Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare event is scheduled for Saturday, August 8th, 2026. Registration opens in May for those interested in participating. For more information on Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare, visit their section on the Hospicare website here.
